PAGE Residential Boys’ Campus, Kompally Annual Kite Flying Festival January 7, 2018

PAGE Residential Boys’ Campus at Kompally held their Annual Kite Flying Festival on January 7, 2018 to herald in the New Year. The tradition of kite flying at this time is believed to mark the arrival of spring in our country and is also a healthy exposure in the early morning sun. These initial rays are healthy and a good source of Vitamin D. It is also considered to be good for skin and helps in fighting many infections and sickness caused by the chilly winter winds. Another interesting fact is that it symbolizes the end of the winter solace which makes the day last longer than night. The students of Classes 8, 9 & 10 all around the Kompally locality had been invited to come and take part in the festival along with their parents and could be seen flying kites and having fun with the PAGE students and faculty. Terrific battles took place in the air and cries of “Katta! Katta!” could be heard as the victorious ones downed their opponents’ kites. Finally, tummies reminded everyone that it was time to go home and the festival ended on a positive note as the victors took home their prizes. Don’t worry losers…you can get your revenge next year again, same time, same place!!
