List of Entrance Exams in Architecture.
There are basically two national level entrance exams to write for Architecture.
1. JEE- B.Arch:
This is the Paper Two of the JEE Mains exam which is given on the same day as the JEE Offline exam in the afternoon. More details on JEE B. Arch, visit: http://architectureentrance.in/jee-barch
2. National Aptitude Test in Architecture or NATA.
NATA is a rolling exam and the dates open from March 15th each year and are open till August 31st of the same year. You can prepare for the test and whenever you feel ready to take the exam, you can go and register at any of the NATA Test Centers and book a slot for the Online & Offline exam which will be conducted on the same day.
NATA scores take about 4 – 7 days to be generated to this is to be kept in mind while choosing a test date. Although NATA may be taken right up to August 31st, it is advisable to complete the NATA exam by May 10th as most of the good architecture colleges close admissions by the first week of June. NATA scores from one cycle cannot be considered for admission in the next cycle.
For example, you can’t take a test in July or August of this year and apply with that score to a college next year. Colleges accept only the current score.

New Test centers are activated for NATA every year which will be updated on the website by the month of March. However, some common NATA Test Centers in Hyderabad are:

2. Vaishnavi School of Architecture & Planning, Hyderabad
3. C.S.I. Institute of Technology, Secunderabad
4. JBR College of Architecture, Banjara Hills

If you are interested in applying to Mumbai Colleges like JJ College of Architecture, Rizvi or Raheja, then you may have to write the MH-AR-CAT or Maharashtra Architecture Common Aptitude Test.
3. MH-AR-CET or Maharashtra Architecture Common Aptitude Test
Every year, the Government of Maharashtra Directorate of Technical Education conducts a Common Entrance Test for candidates seeking admission to degree courses in Architecture. MH AR CET score is applicable for admission to the Five year degree courses in Architecture (B.Arch.) .With your MH AR CET score, you can apply to all Government & Government Aided Architecture Colleges in Maharashtra, University Departments and University Managed Institutes in addition to Un-Aided Architecture Colleges who have given consent to participate in the MAH AR CET. This Centralized Admission Process is being conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education, M.S., Mumbai in the State of Maharashtra.
Eligibility details for MAH AR CET
1- Candidate should be an Indian National
2- should have passed/appeared the HSC (10+2 level) examination
3- minimum 50% marks in aggregate (45% marks in aggregate in case of candidates of Backward class categories
Important Dates MH AR CET
- Sale of Information Brochure along with Application Kit for all candidates at the designated ARC’s. – Month of May
- Submission & Confirmation of application form - First week of June
- Date & Timing of MAH-AR-CAT / MAH-AR-CET - Second week of June
- Declaration of Result of MAH-AR-CAT / MAH-AR-CET - Last week of June
