PAGE JUNIOR COLLEGE organized an Innovation Workshop Validation Day on December 18, 2016 at the premises of MCRHRD Institute in Jubilee Hills. Shri Jayesh Ranjan, Secretary, Information Technology, Electronics & Communications Department, Govt. of Telangana kindly consented to be the Chief Guest & Chief Validator and participate in validating the work of the PAGE students.
Over the past six weeks, in the PAGE INNOVATION LAB, fourteen young innovators came together in a pilot program to take up social challenges, and find unique ways to solve them, using innovation and design thinking tools and techniques. The themes were better transportation in schools, waste management, better housing for the poor and interactive classroom experience for students.
On the Validation Day, four teams presented their chosen project which was officially validated by our esteemed guests & validators such as Mrs. Karuna IAS, Commissioner Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Neeraj, Founder & MD at MEdRC EduTech Dr. Bhaktiyar Chowdary, Consultant Rays Life Style Hospitals, Mr. P. Subramanian, VP, OTS Advertising, Mr. Viiveck Verma, co- founder Anaptyxi People Consult, Mr.Vijay Reddy, CEO The Last Mile, Dr. Priya Hasan, Astrophysicist at MANU & Ms. Spandana, Counselling Psychologist including, of course, the Chief Validator – our Chief Guest, Shri. Jayesh Ranjan, IAS. The presentations were highly appreciated by Shri. Jayesh Ranjan & and the school Principals who attended and a couple of validators, in their official capacity, even offered to help students towards implementing the suggested solutions.
The event also marked the official launch of the PAGE INNOVATION LAB – the first of its kind in Hyderabad- which will henceforth function out of the PAGE Banjara Hills Campus under the guidance of Shri. Srinivasarao Pattur, reputed Designer and NID alumnus and advisors Satwik Polkampally & Salivahana ‘Simba’ Pattur. Through this Lab and its courses, PAGE aims to influence and shape young minds from the primary school upwards, to think innovatively and uniquely no matter what they do or what career path they ultimately choose in their lives.
